Diane Hause
The Diane Hause Legacy Studio
This space honors Diane Hause (1952–2017)—born in Forest Hills, NY, who moved to Wilmington, NC, at 15—as artist, professor, and beloved community steward. From her 240-acre studio in Ivanhoe, Diane curated exhibitions, championed national and local artists, and raised funds for causes close to her heart—from the Lost Boys of Sudan to flood relief in North Carolina. Known for her laser focus on those in need, her quick wit, and her boundless generosity, Diane saw deeply—whether spotting a stranded motorist, an injured animal by the roadside, or an emerging artist needing encouragement.
Curated by her family and friends, this account carries forward her belief that art and compassion are inseparable. Here, we share her work, her stories, and invitations to continue her mission: to create fiercely, care openly, and never look away from those who need help.
